VANDUSER, MO (KFVS) -

A Vanduser man wants to know why his dog got shot.

Steve Pobst took his dog "Lucky" to the Animal Clinic in Scott City for urinary problems late last week.

The animal clinic sent Lucky to Delta Veterinary Clinic in Sikeston where X-Rays revealed a bullet had lodged into the dog's bladder.

"It's not unusual that an animal gets shot, but it is unusual that we find a bullet in place of what first was thought to be a stone," said Dr. Brian Heuring.

Pobst believes Lucky was shot several days before he took him to the animal clinic because he noticed the dog wasn't itself and started having trouble urinating.

Pobst believes Lucky was randomly shot by a passerby or was one someone else's property and shot.

Pobst says he spent around $1000 to get the bullet taken out of Lucky and just wants to know why and how it got there.
