FLORENCE, AL (WAFF) -

Police are out in force ensuring Black Friday shoppers stay safe on the road and in stores.

People are already out in full force taking advantage of pre-Black Friday sales or waiting in line for stores to open.

Last year, a Florence police officer was force to use a stun gun on an unruly shopper just after midnight. Florence Police said they are staffed and ready this year in case anyone gets out of hand again, but they hope no one will.

Walmart's first wave of sales is expected to begin around 5 p.m., and shoppers and police are ready.
