Elliott Kanbar's book, “You Finally Finished Your Film. Now What???” Will be published on December 15, 2012 and will be available on Amazon, Kindle, and in bookstores. The book serves as a road map for the most economical and successful ways independent filmmakers can self-distribute their films. The book covers such imported topics as:
The availability of low-cost cameras and inexpensive post-production software has enabled filmmakers to make excellent films at a very low cost. However, this has also created a glut of films all competing for screens at a reduced number of art house theaters. Elliott Kanbar stated the following: "I felt there was a need for a book that filmmakers could easily follow. A book that gives filmmakers a road map to successfully and economically self-distribute their films. A book with little verbiage, but plenty of facts. I've seen too many filmmakers, producing very worthy films, become paralyzed as to what they should do next."
Elliott Kanbar has been advising and mentoring filmmakers, film distributors, and film producers for more than 40 years. He is the President of Cinema Four, Inc., which operates the Quad Cinema in New York, the “Quad Cinema 4-Wall Select” program, and the marketing of “Quad DVD Gems”. He is also the publisher of the “Quad Cinema E-News” with over 7,800 subscribers. “New York Resident” magazine named Kanbar one of its “Top 100 New Yorkers Of The Year,” stating that these "men and women who live and work in the Big Apple make daily existence in the world's greatest city a little better for every one of us." Kanbar has appeared on numerous panels at the Toronto International Film Festival, Long Island Film Festival, International Documentary Association, the Big Apple Festival, and the Queens World Film Festival. He has also been a guest lecturer on Cinema Economics at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
