SIU football player earns AFCA All-America Team - KFVS12 News & Weather Cape Girardeau, Carbondale, Poplar Bluff

Southern Illinois University senior defensive end Ken Boatright earned the All-America Team from the American Football Coaches Association Tuesday.

Eleven defensive players have made the All-America Team, but Boatright is one of only four defensive linemen.

Boatright had 13.5 tackles for loss, finishing third in the Missouri Valley Football Conference, and 5.5 sacks that tied him for seventh in the conference.

He was a team captain this season and two-year starter at SIU.

Last week Boatright was named to the Valley's All-Conference first team.
