BULLARD, TX (KLTV) -

Bullard Police Department has released the names of the injured people in Monday's accident between a garbage truck and a medical transport van.

The driver of the garbage truck is John Lindsay of Bullard. His condition is unknown.

Melissa Wilburn was in the medical transport van, and she is in good condition. Mary Wilburn of Vidor is in ICU in serious condition. She was also a passenger in the transport van.

The name of the deceased has not been released.

The scene of the accident was  Highway 69 south of Bullard at the intersection of CR 3801.

Traffic was shut down in both directions for about two hours in Bullard.

The gray van used for East Texas Support Service medical transportation was destroyed after authorities say it struck a garbage truck owned by DS Disposal.

"We had a dump truck driver pull out in front of another car headed southbound and the driver that was headed southbound hit the other driver," said Bullard Police Officer Stuart Alexander.

DPS, Bullard police and firefighters were called to the scene around noon. First responders had to cut the roof off the van to get the three females out of the vehicle.

"There were people pinned in the car", said Alexander.

Two victims were airlifted to a Tyler hospital by helicopter and two others were taken by ambulance.

A man who lives near the intersection where the wreck happened said he has seen several accidents there over the years.

Doug Makowsky lives in Oak Grove Estates, a neighborhood right across the street from where the accident happened.

"You cannot judge the speed of the cars when you try to cross the road right here. You're crossing 5 lanes at one time and it's just almost impossible," he said."

The crash is still under investigation to determine who is at fault.
