Following an article about new body scanners in airports, Surf Patch released a statement regarding the recent news.
Bohemia, NY (PRWEB) December 27, 2012
On December 27, 2012, travel company, Surf Patch, released a statement following a Yahoo! News article regarding new body scanners being put in airports to help passengers flyclear of dangers.
According to the Yahoo! News article, “A new body scanner has been introduced at Perth International Airport.” The article states that the new scanners can detect things that the previous body scanners could not. The article mentions such things as being able to detect drugs that people could be carrying internally.
According to the article, The scanner uses radio frequency energy which is deemed to be safe. The article states that this body scanner technology is being used overseas already, and can detect both metallic and non-metallic items on a person. “Travelers will be randomly selected to go through and anyone who refuses will not be allowed to board their flight,” the article says.
Travel company Surf Patch recognized the improvement these scanners will bring to airports, since they can detect more than the old scanners, and they are not harmful to the body. “The new scanners seem like a great improvement to the older model, making airports safer and letting passengers flyclear of any dangers,” says world traveler Takara Licausi. “Hopefully more airports will get these new scanners and completely replace the old scanners in all airports.”
