New campaign challenges people to go paperless, once and for all
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) January 01, 2013
The paperless office has finally arrived. Led by HelloFax, a coalition of companies today launched Paperless 2013, a push to deliver free online tools to consumers and businesses that allow them to retire their printers and fax machines to the scrap heap.
When people pledge to go paperless at http://www.Paperless2013.org, they will receive an email with links to a set of web services that, used together, can remove the need for ‘paper’ from paperwork: HelloFax, Google Drive, Manilla, Xero, HelloSign and Expensify. HelloFax is offering an exclusive deal of 50 free fax pages per month.
“The digital tools that are available today blow what we had even five years ago out of the water,” said Joseph Walla, HelloFax founder and CEO. “For the first time, it’s easy to sign, fax, and store documents without ever printing a piece of paper. It’s finally fast and simple to complete paperwork and expense reports, to manage accounting, pay bills and invoice others. The paperless office is here – we just need to use it.”
“I hope many small business owners will join us in the Paperless 2013 pledge,” said Xero President of U.S. Operations Jamie Sutherland. “Not only is it good for the environment, but the cloud saves time and money by streamlining and digitizing workflows, especially in the case of small business accounting."
"Manilla is excited to be a member of the Paperless Coalition and the Paperless 2013 campaign," said Jim Schniella, CEO of Manilla. "It's truly representative of Manilla's overall mission to simplify and organize people's lives, to help them to eliminate clutter, and to help improve the environment by reducing the overall use of paper."
"Between pockets full of crumpled receipts, stacks of expense report printouts, or long forgotten reimbursement checks stuffed in your wallet, paper makes expense reports suck at every stage," said David Barrett, CEO of Expensify. "We're excited to support Paperless 2013 to bring receipt scanning, online reporting, and direct deposit reimbursement to the masses."
The Paperless Coalition is:
According to the US Environmental Protection Agency, the average US office worker uses 10,000 sheets of copy paper each year. In 2010, the amount of paper recovered for recycling averaged 334 pounds for each person living in the US, according to the American Forest & Paper Association.
