MADISON COUNTY, MO (KFVS) -

One person is dead after being swept away in high water Saturday night in Madison County, Missouri.

Missouri Highway Patrol Sgt. Clark Parrott, the victim is Perry Miller, 59, of Marquand, Missouri.

According to Parrott, three people were in a vehicle trying to cross a flooded out bridge on Route V, when the vehicle was swept away by raging waters.

Two people managed to get out of the vehicle and made it back to a safety. Miller was washed away by the waters.

County officials searched for Miller Saturday night and Sunday morning.

Miller's body was found Sunday morning just downstream from the bridge.

    According to Sikeston DPS Assistant Chief Jim McMillen, one person was shot and taken to an area hospital on Tuesday evening, April 24 with serious injuries.
