Residents achieve savings milestone while generating funds for local public programs
Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla. (PRWEB) January 14, 2013
The providers of the Coast2Coast Rx announced today that its discount prescription card has saved residents of Hernando County $2,616,000 on prescriptions since the launch of the program in January 2011. This total includes savings of more than $1.6 million in 2012.
The program’s three-pronged approach to benefits earned the endorsement of the Hernando County Board of County Commissioners. For almost two years now, residents have had the opportunity to better manage their health through the Coast2Coast Rx card, a free resource that provides an average savings of 60 percent on thousands of prescription drugs, offers additional discounts on other health care services, and generates $1.25 for Hernando County’s public programs each time it is used to fill a prescription. This unique feature provides a simple way for consumers to reinvest in their community, at no cost to the county or taxpayers.
All consumers are eligible to use the card: the uninsured, the underinsured, and those with high deductibles or excluded prescriptions under their current plan, and even Medicare Part D patients experiencing the “donut hole” in their coverage. It offers savings of up to 75 percent on more than 60,000 brand name and generic prescriptions drugs at 59,000+ chain and independent pharmacies nationwide. Discounts on diabetes supplies, services such a lab and imaging, and vision, dental and hearing care and even pet prescriptions and veterinary care are available through a network of selected providers.
“Hernando County’s savings of more than $1 million each year in its first two years indicates a need for and use of this program among consumers, and we are pleased to work with the Hernando County Board of County Commissioners to provide a program that helps consumers save significantly on the prescriptions that can lead to improved health outcomes,” said Chief Marketing Officer Marty Dettelbach of Financial Marketing Concepts, Inc., the company that provides the discount prescription card.
Consumers are invited to add Coast2Coast Rx to their social networks on Facebook and Twitter for updates and to join in the conversation. Hernando County residents will find the free card available to print at http://www.coast2coastrx.com/counties/fl/hernando/.
