STODDARD COUNTY, MO (KFVS) -

An Advance man was killed in a crash Wednesday in Stoddard County, according to Missouri Highway Patrol.

It happened around 2:45 p.m. just east of Highway 25 on Route AB.

Troopers say Daniel J. Whittemore, 34, of Advance, Missouri, was driving a 2007 Freightliner. He was killed in the crash after the trash truck he was driving ran off the left side of the road, overcorrected and overturned. The vehicle came to a rest on its side.

Whittemore was pronounced dead at the scene by the Stoddard County coroner.

Tracy K. Williams, 47, of Advance had serious injuries. Jonathan E. Eldridge, 29, of Marble Hill had moderate injuries. Williams and Eldridge were taken by EMS to a Cape Girardeau hospital.

Troopers were assisted by the Stoddard County Sheriff's Department, Bloomfield Fire Department, Stoddard County EMS and MoDOT.
