CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) -

A Cape Girardeau woman is accused of running from police.

It happened around 3:20 p.m. on Thursday.

Rosie L. Jackson, 33, of Cape Girardeau was charged with felony-attempted escape from confinement. She was being held at Cape Girardeau County Jail on a $5,000 cash-only bond.

Police say an officer took a Jackson into custody for a warrant. After getting to the station, the officer was walking Jackson inside when she took off running across the back parking lot of the police department.

As Jackson was running, police say she managed to slip a wrist out of the handcuffs and continued running across Merriweather into a parking lot across the street.

The officer was able to take Jackson into custody shortly thereafter.
