LYON COUNTY, KY (KFVS) -
A verbal argument between brothers quickly turned violent in Lyon County, Kentucky on Sunday.
Jacob Lawrence, 26, of Eddyville, Ky., was charged with assault second degree and taken to the Caldwell County Jail.
According to Kentucky State Police, it all started when Lawrence reportedly entered his brother's residence on Cedar Street in Eddyville, and got into a verbal argument that escalated into a physical fight.
Troopers say Lawrence allegedly pulled a knife from his pocket and cut his brother during the struggle. Lawrence then was reportedly struck in the head with a shotgun and fled the residence.
Lawrence was found a short time later at the Caldwell County Hospital in Princeton where he was seeking medical attention. After receiving treatment, troopers say Lawrence was arrested.
Lawrence's brother was treated at his home by Lyon County EMS.
The case remains under investigation by state police.
