UMass victim identified after Amherst fire Monday

SPRINGFIELD, MA (WSHM) -

According to our media partner, Mass Live and The Republican, fire officials have identified the victim as 21-year old James Hoffman from Stoughton.

The fire broke out at the Rolling Green apartment in Amherst, just before 5 a.m. Monday.

The blaze left 10 units damaged and five destroyed.

The Red Cross is assisting the dozens of people that were left homeless. The cause remains under investigation.
