Missouri Holds on to beat South Carolina

COLUMBIA, MO (KFVS) -

Missouri survived against South Carolina winning 71-65 Tuesday night.

Despite going 5-27 from beyond the arc and an overall 33 percent shooting, the Tigers were able to hold off the Gamecocks to win their 12 straight home game at Mizzou Arena.

Missouri's last lost at home was to Kansas State and Frank Martin, who is now coaching in his first season at South Carolina, on Feb. 21, 2012.

The Tigers had to overcome a 13-point deficit at halftime. Earnest Ross helped Mizzou rally with a career high 21 points. Jabari Brown added 17of his own, scoring eight points in a 20-2 run during the second half.

Alex Oriakhi  had a double-double scoring 18 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. Oriakhi was 10 for 10 at the free throw line and fouled out in the final minute of the game.

Missouri next plays Vanderbilt at Mizzou Arena on Saturday.
