FRANKLIN COUNTY, IL (KFVS) -

A 20-year-old Christopher woman was killed in an early morning crash in Franklin County.

The crash happened Saturday morning at the intersection of Lincoln Road and Izaac Walton Road north of Buckner.

Franklin County Coroner Marty Leffler says Brooke M. (Bolen) Brown, 20, of Christopher died in the crash.

According to Leffler, a 911 call came in to Franklin County Sheriff Department at 4:36 a.m. of a car on its roof in a field, with a non-responsive female victim trapped inside. He says it appears the driver was southbound on Lincoln at a high rate of speed.

Initial crash reports indicate the Brown's  reportedly lost control of the car, left the road and went airborne for around 60-feet before her car flipped over just north of the intersection.

Franklin County Sheriff Deputies, Buckner and Benton Fire Departments arrived on scene along with Abbott Ambulance finding Brown deceased.

Leffler says tests show Brown died from blunt force trauma to the head. He also says alcohol and drug paraphernalia was present in the wreckage. She was wearing a seatbelt.

Funeral arrangements are pending with the Gilbert Funeral Home of Christopher.

The accident is under the investigation of the Franklin County Sheriff's Department and the Franklin County Coroner's office.
