1 injured after tractor-trailer skids off road down embankment

WASHINGTON COUNTY, IL (KFVS) -

One person was hurt after a tractor-trailer skidded off the road on Interstate 64 near Nashville Monday morning.

Illinois State Police say it happened at 7:49 a.m. near mile post 51 when Emmanuel Chalin, 42, of Orlando, Fla. was driving tractor-trailer too fast.

The vehicle skidded off the road, went over a guardrail and down an embankment where if jack-knifed.

Chalin was not hurt, but a passenger was taken to a Washington County hospital complaining of back pain.

The wreck did not block the interstate.
