KENNETT, MO (KFVS) -

A Kennett man has been arrested on drug charges.

James Mitchell, 33, is charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute.

On Tuesday, January 29, the Kennett Police Department's Special Response Team (SRT), assisted by the Bootheel Drug Task Force and the Dunklin County Sheriff's Office, served a search warrant at a residence in the 800 block of Providence.

The home was a known location for drug activity, according to the Kennett Police Department.

The SRT safely entered the home and secured the occupants, while a search was conducted for the presence of narcotics.

Officers found an undisclosed amount of methamphetamine, marijuana, paraphernalia, and stolen property.

Mitchell was arrested and transported to the Dunklin County Jail, and later charged with possession of a controlled substance with the intent to distribute, a class B felony, and given a bond of $75,000 cash only.
