KENNETT, MO (KFVS) -

A Kennett man was arrested after being recognized by an on-duty officer as having an outstanding warrant for assault.

On Wednesday, Jan. 30, at about 8 p.m., Kennett Police were dispatched to the 300 block of Harrison Street in reference to a disturbance. 

Upon arrival, Officers made contact with two individuals who were arguing in the street. 

While Officers were handling the complaint, James Brown, 27, of Kennett, walked into the area as a spectator. 

Kennett Police recognized Brown, knew that he had warrant for assault through the City of Kennett, and arrested Brown on the warrant. 

Brown transported to the Kennett Police Department where he posted bond and was released. 

A complaint was also signed against Elbert Thomas, 23, of Kennett, one of the individuals involved in the original disturbance, for property damage.
