SHANNON COUNTY, MO (KFVS) -
A jury trial has ended in a guilty verdict for a Ripley County woman who was charged with two counts of first-degree murder.
Court papers show a Shannon County jury found Youngblood guilty late Thursday night on both counts of murder in the first degree.
Melissa Youngblood was charged in connection with the deaths of Ed Atkinson and Bonnie Chase, who died back in July of 2010.
Youngblood was the first of four defendants to stand trial.
Her husband David Youngblood pleaded guilty last June of killing not only Atkinson and Chase, but two other people as well.
Police say Irene and Loyd Piatt were also shot and killed, and their home set on fire.
Two others have yet to stand trial for the four murders.
David and Melissa's daughter Chantale Youngblood, and also Keith Boyles.
A family member of the Piatt's told Heartland News that the guilty verdict in Melissa's case came as a relief.
