SIU football players participate in 'Souper Bowl' to fight hunger

CARBONDALE, IL (KFVS) -

SIU football Salukis are making some noise helping to fight hunger in southern Illinois.

The team is helping the Good Samaritan Ministries Food Pantry by participating in the "Souper Bowl of Caring."

They are spending the day collecting funds for the Good Samaritan Ministries food pantry.

The pantry is at the University Baptist Church in Carbondale.

The Salukis are in their football uniforms at various stores in Carbondale and Murphysboro with soup pots collecting money for the food pantry. The collection runs from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
