NFL scout: Marcus Lattimore could go undrafted

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) -

Former University of South Carolina running back Marcus Lattimore continues to rehabilitate his injured knee and prepare for the NFL Draft, but one unnamed NFL scout seems to be putting cold water on the record-breaking player's chances at the next level.

The NFL blog ProFootballWeekly sources one scout saying Lattimore may not be drafted at all.

"Marcus Lattimore is tall and a little narrow-hipped. He is tough and the kind of kid you root for, but I thought he was a third-rounder before the injury. Now I don't know if he gets drafted," said the scout.

Lattimore declared for the draft back in December.

He has also been working to restore ligament strength to the knee he injured in the Tennessee game in October.

The star running back was recently interviewed by the NFL Network about his chances to play in the NFL in 2013.

"I believe in myself," said Lattimore, who is rehabbing with Dr. James Andrews, one of the nation's leading orthopaedic surgeons. "Dr. Andrews actually said, 'You're going to shock the world,' so I quoted him. And I really do believe I'll be ready. I'm going at a rate that I knew I could, and I feel great. When I start jogging and I get a little bit stronger, I know it's game on then."

The NFL Draft is set to begin on April 25 and end two days later.
