PATTON, MO (KFVS) -

Multiple crews were battling a two-story house fire in Patton, Missouri Saturday morning.

The Bollinger county Sheriff's Office says that North County and Marble Hill Fire Departments responded to the house fire on Highway 51 just before 9 a.m.

Crews were still on scene as of 10:45 a.m. putting out hot spots.

According to the sheriff's office, a fire fighter received injuries due to smoke inhalation. He went to a local hospital by private vehicle for treatment.

According to Marble Hill Fire Chief Jim Bollinger, the two story house is a total loss.  When crews arrived on scene, he says flames were shooting out of the roof.  And, while fighting the blaze, the roof and part of the second floor collapsed.

North Bollinger County Fire Department was staying on the scene to keep the fire from spreading to nearby homes.

Chief Bollinger says there was nobody home at the time the fire broke out.  He says the family left to go to Arkansas because their son was in a car accident.

Marble Hill Fire Department, Sedgewickville Fire Department and North Bollinger County Fire Department all fought the blaze.
