JOHNSTON CITY, IL (KFVS) -
One person was reportedly stabbed and two others arrested after a bar fight Friday night in Johnston City, Illinois.
According to Johnston City Police Chief Vernon Campbell, at 11:10 p.m. Friday, officers responded to a disturbance at Pub Club on 206 East Broadway in Johnston City.
One of the bartenders says the fight started
outside of the bar.
"When the two boys got into an argument
in the bathroom, one of our local boys, Johnny, herded everyone out the door
and once that happened some guy lost control and stabbed the guy who was
getting everybody out of there," said Kimie Campbell.
Chief Campbell says when officers arrived on the scene, they found Johnny Casey, 23, cut and stabbed about half a dozen times, with a couple of deep puncture wounds. He reportedly refused treatment as of last night, according to the chief.
Casey was allegedly trying to break up a fight and was stabbed and cut in the process. Chief Campbell says Casey was reportedly stabbed and cut by 43-year-old Kevin W. Page. Page was arrested on charges of aggravated battery and taken to the Williamson County Jail.
Chief Campbell says there were lots of people involved in the fight.
Matthew W Beers, 29, was allegedly throwing pool balls and beer bottles at people inside the club. He was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct, criminal damage of property over $500 and aggravated assault.
Chief Campbell says the incident is still under investigation and he expects more arrests to come.
