SPRINGFIELD, MA (WSHM) -

Fans lined up hours early outside of the Mass Mutual Center.

It was all for the chance to get inside, to hear and meet the team that brings the Red Sox into their homes.  Wednesday afternoon, a meet and greet session was held with NESN's Don Orsillo, Jerry Remy and Jenny Dell.

"I would say they are a 10 out of a 10," said Chuck Assad, a Red Sox fan. "I cannot give them any higher accolades than that. They are really super."

And while it is a thrill for the fans, Dell told CBS 3 that it is just as exciting for the crew to meet the people who watch them on a nightly basis.

"The best thing is being able to interact with fans," said Dell. "That is a huge part of my job, especially since I am down on third base surrounded by fans at all times."

For Orsillo, Wednesday's tour stop held extra meaning. The play-by-play man got the chance to catch up with fans who remember him as the voice of the Springfield Falcons and Indians.

"We are now going to Portland and then Providence," said Orsillo. "I assume it will be more of the same, but it was a great stop here in Springfield. There are so many loyal, great fans."

While the tour stops continue, it will not be the last time we see the NESN crew on our air. CBS 3 Springfield is your NESN affiliate for Western Massachusetts.
