Crews were called to the scene of two separate overnight fires on Henderson Street in Cape Girardeau and Mulberry Street in Scott City.

The call came in around midnight for the fire in Cape Girardeau on 646 S Henderson.

The people living in the home were able to get out safely.

The Cape Girardeau Fire Department says the fire caused $50,000 worth of damage to the home.

The cause of the fire is not known at this time, but is still under investigation.

The call for the fire at 115 Mulberry in Scott City came in around 1 a.m. on Friday.

Crews for the Scott City fire department rushed to the scene from Cape Girardeau, where they were covering for Cape Girardeau firefighters who were responding to the fire on Henderson Street.

The home had major damage and officials say there is no word on what caused that fire, but no one was injured.
