PADUCAH, KY (KFVS) -

Deputies say a Paducah woman claims she was singing a song in her car and didn't see a crash before hitting a wrecked vehicle and a pedestrian.

It happened Friday shortly before 5 a.m. at the intersection of John L. Puryear and Eich Road.

Deputies say Cheryl Crider, 54, of Metropolis was leaving Drifters restaurant, pulled her car out onto John L Puryear, and struck pickup driven by Billie Thorn, 25, of Paducah.

After the collision, Deputies say Criders car came to a stop in the slow lane of John L. Puryear. A few moments later, a car driven by Melissa Smith, 32, of Paducah, reportedly hit Criders' vehicle and a passerby, William Neckel, 52, of Paducah.

Deputies say Neckel had stopped to check on those in the crash.

Crider allegedly told officers that she didn't see the pickup as she was leaving Drifters. Smith reportedly told officers she was singing along with a song and didn't see the crash in front of her as she was driving.

Deputies say Crider, her 6-year-old granddaughter and Neckel were taken to Western Baptist Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. Thorn was taken to Lourdes Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

Smith was issued a citation for not having insurance.

John L. Puryear drive was reduced to one lane for about an hour and half for clean up and an investigation.

The McCracken County Sheriff's Department was assisted on scene by Mercy Regional EMS, and Reidland-Farley Fire Department.
