SHAWNEE, KS (KCTV) -

The roof of a furniture store in Warrensburg collapsed while workers were inside Tuesday morning, but thankfully no one was injured.

This is one of at least four roof collapses Tuesday at commercial businesses in Kansas and Missouri. Thankfully no injuries have been reported thus far.

It was certainly a close call at a Warrensburg business. The collapse occurred at Arwood's Furniture & Mattress near Pride Avenue and Highway 50.

Owner Debbie Arwood told KCTV5 that workers were inside the store, which was open to customers. The collapse occurred in the warehouse section of the building.

"No one was hurt is the mind thing," she said.

She said workers had been inside that area just moments before the collapse, but happened to leave. She said workers had no warning before a 100 by 150 foot section of the roof gave way.

She said the collapse occurred at a joint connecting two of three buildings. The collapse ruptured the sprinkler lines, creating a bigger mess.

The Johnson County Sheriff's Office in Missouri said there was a water main break, that contributed to the damage.

The building was evacuated. Insurance adjusters have already come out, Arwood said.

The roof at a horse arena in Shawnee has seen significant damage due to heavy snowfall.

"We will be back open as soon we can," she said, adding the store was working to make everything as painless as possible for employees and customers.

This is one of a number of roof collapses in Kansas and Missouri after heavy wet snowfall fell on top of last week's snow.

Significant damage occurred at the Covered M Arena at 53rd Street and Renner Road, according to Major Bill Hisle of the Shawnee Police Department.

The property has stables where horses are kept. No animals or humans suffered any damages.

This occurred before noon Tuesday.

In Sedalia, the roof on a storage building behind the Xceligent Call Center collapsed about 6:30 a.m. No one was inside the building so no injuries were reported.

This occurred in the 2500 block of East Broadway in Sedalia.

In Belton, the roof gave way at the Fraternal Order of Eagles at 310 Main St. A side wall came down at the older building. No injuries were reported. KCTV5's Bill Lindsay was there and recorded the collapse.

Last week, the roofs at a dance studio in Gladstone and an apartment building in Kansas City, KS, collapsed Friday under the weight of snow.
