PULASKI COUNTY, IL (KFVS) -

A Chicago Bears offensive tackle is no longer facing drug charges in Pulaski County, Illinois.

According to Pulaski County State's Attorney Grayson Gile, the charges against Webb were dropped on Wednesday afternoon.

Webb tweeted around 4:30 p.m. from his Twitter account, "Headed to Texas to train. I apologize."

Pulaski County Sheriff Randy Kern says a deputy arrested J'Marcus L. Webb on Sunday evening. Webb plays for the NFL's Chicago Bears.

Webb was charged with possession of controlled substance, cannabis and paraphernalia.

Kern says Webb paid $500 of a $5,000 bond on Monday and was released.

"We are aware of the recent arrest of J'Marcus Webb in Pulaski County, Illinois," said Jim Christman, Chicago Bears Media Relations Manager. "We are currently gathering information to learn more about the circumstances surrounding the arrest."

Pulaski County States Attorney Grayson Gile says Webb was pulled over for speeding, going 11 mph over the 65 mph limit along Interstate 57 near mile marker 16. He was driving a 2007 Ford vehicle.

Gile says Webb had a passenger in the car, but that person won't be charged.

The state's attorney's office is not moving forward with the charges and Gile adds that Webb's March court date has been canceled.

Court records show J'Marcus Webb was ticketed twice in Pulaski county in 2012.

He was ticketed for driving 15-20 mph above the speed limit on January 17, 2012 and February 6, 2012.
