CARUTHERSVILLE, MO (KFVS) -

The sheriff's office is investigating copper wiring thefts near Caruthersville and Portageville.

Pemiscot County Sheriff Tommy Greenwell says deputies have taken two separate reports of stolen copper wiring from center pivots in different parts of the county this week. 

According to Capt. Ryan Holder, several spans of pivot wiring was stolen from a farm just outside of Caruthersville possibly within the last couple of weeks and the other report was a farm south of Portageville and there were two spans of wire stolen in this incident. 

Holder says damage estimates along with the stolen wiring are in the thousands of dollars.
