A Kentucky man has been charged in connection with a 2012 bank robbery at Kentucky Oaks Mall. He is also accused of bank robberies in Owensboro and Lexington, Kentucky.
Christopher A. Schenk, 45, of Leitchfield, was charged in a warrant with second-degree robbery. He was jailed in Daviess County.
Paducah police say they tentatively identified Schenk as a suspect in the U.S. Bank robbery, which was the first in a string of robberies he is accused of committing.
Lexington authorities and U.S. Marshals tracked Schenk to Bowling Green after he became a suspect in the bank robbery.
Police say he was charged with the Lexington robbery, and was arrested by Bowling Green authorities at a motel there.
Schenk was then taken to Owensboro, where authorities wanted to question him regarding a bank robbery there. During questioning, police say Schenk admitted having robbed the Paducah U.S. Bank branch.
Paducah detectives say they went to Owensboro and interviewed Schenk, then obtained a warrant charging him with the local robbery.
