KENNETT, MO (KFVS) -

Two men face charges after an attempted robbery in Kennett on March 1.

Kennett police officers responded to a 911 call around 12:49 a.m. Friday to the ATM machine behind Southern Missouri Bank.

The victim told police he withdrew money from the ATM and was followed by the suspects as he walked near the old Dunklin County Jail on his way home. That's when the victim says two men tried to take his money, he fought back, and the suspects ran off and got in the PT Cruiser.

While headed to the scene, the officers were advised the suspects in the robbery were last seen getting into a silver PT Cruiser and were at the ATM machine. Officers found the vehicle and the suspects at the ATM machine.

The two suspects, from Hayti and Sikeston, were taken to the Dunklin County Jail awaiting formal charges.
