Missouri kicks off trout season with a 'Troutapalooza'

SALEM, MO (KFVS) -

Missouri's trout season kicked off at Montauk State Park near Salem on Friday morning.

Missouri's State Parks began the 2013 season with what they are calling  "The Year of the Trout" with "Troutapalooza."

Events are planned at Missouri's State Parks to engage new and experienced anglers to the activity through Oct. 31, 2013.

The following events are planned to take place during the season:

  • Trout Park Passport Program
  • Monthly Learn2 Fish Clinics
  • Weekly Drawings
  • Tournaments
  • Coloring Contests
  • Special programs and activities
