SIKESTON, MO (KFVS) -

A Civil War re-enactment of the March 1, 1862 "Battle of Sand Ridge" was held in Sikeston on Saturday and Sunday.

There were around 100 people on hand Sunday learning more about the 150-year-old battle.

Coordinator Rick Justice says the battle is one that changed the nation's history.

He wants others to know what happened in the past, and also to know about why the battle was fought.

Justice says more children are taking an interest in the reenactments.
