MASSAC COUNTY, IL (KFVS) -

The Massac County Sheriff's Office is asking the public for donations for an correctional officer and his family who have lost everything in a fire.

A fire destroyed the home of a family with three children in Massac County.

It happened Tuesday on Orchard Road in Massac County. No one was home at the time. The cause of the fire is unknown.

The home belongs to Massac County Correctional Officer Adam Meyer.

Massac County Sheriff Ted Holder says Meyer did not have any insurance on the home or its contents.

Meyer has three children ages 8, 7, and 6.

Donations are being collected at the Massac County Sheriffs Office and monetary donations are being excepted at both branches of the Metropolis City National Bank.

Call the Massac County Sheriffs Office at 618-524-2912 for clothing sizes.
