South Bend, IN (WAFB) -

Gunner Kiel intends to transfer from Notre Dame according to a report from IrishSportsDaily.com.

During his 2012 recruitment, Kiel decommitted from Indiana before committing to Les Miles and the LSU Tigers.

The 6'4, 210 pound number one ranked quarterback had one more change of heart, dropping the Tigers late in the recruiting process and committing to Brian Kelly and Notre Dame.

The late commitment to Notre Dame did not sit well with LSU head coach Les Miles.

At the Bayou Bash Miles addressed Kiel's situation saying, "There was a gentleman from Indiana that thought about coming to the Bayou state. He did not necessarily have the chest and the ability to lead a program, so you know."

Kiel redshirted last year and faced stiff competition this year with the return of starting quarterback sophomore Everett Golson and senior backup Tommy Rees.

When asked about transferring earlier in the year Kiel said it had not "crossed his mind." When asked about taking over as the starting quarterback Kiel said,"I'm gonna try, but he's a great (Golson) quarterback. He's going to lead this team and he's going to keep getting better, so I just need to keep getting better and learn from him, and also learn from coach Kelly and just try to keep getting better each year."

CBSSports.com's Bruce Feldman reports that a coach at a major program said Kiel's representatives contacted him about the possibility of transferring last month, but the coach told them he wasn't interested.

Don't worry. We'll be a lot nicer to the players in the SEC than the Emmy voters were to Netflix. We kind of have to - it's highly unlikely an actor could power clean the equivalent of a human being.
