ST. FRANCOIS COUNTY, MO (KFVS) -

Family and friends have intensified their own efforts to find Sam Francis.

He vanished nearly three months ago. Loved ones say they fear what could have happened.

Francis' family and closest friends spoke to Heartland News Friday as they ask for help finding the husband and father.

His loved ones say they are frustrated and scared because so much time has gone by and they still don't have answers.

Wes Bartels says he and Sam considered each other brothers. Bartels says he last talked to Francis about a week before he disappeared. That was just before Christmas.

"He would never go more than a few days without calling me or something," said Bartels. "We are all worried sick. His wife, his kids, his family all need closure and answers."

Francis' wife Amanda says his kids miss him dearly, and they deserve to know what happened to their father.

Friends and family continue to work together to put up flyers all over the Heartland. Francis had ties to Cape Girardeau where at one time he worked as a tattoo artist at The Tattoo Spot. Many knew him as tick.

Francis also has family in Scott County and was last seen in St. Francois County.

Bartels and family members say they know someone out there has information, they hope that person will see Sam's picture and realize how much they love him and come forward.

"I think something bad has happened," said Bartels. "My plan is to get closure on it because I would like to know what has happened to him. I want justice to be served."

Bartels, friends and family are planning to put out flyers and take up a collection for reward or memorial money on Saturday, March 16.

They will meet at noon at Burger King in Festus, Missouri.

According to the Highway Patrol, they are assisting St. Francois County with the investigation.

At this point, authorities aren't releasing any information.
