STE. GENEVIEVE COUNTY, MO (KFVS) -
A tractor-trailer hit a bison on Interstate 55 Saturday morning.
According to Ste. Genevieve County Sheriff's Office, just before 6 a.m., deputies say some bison got loose from a property around the 156 mile marker.
A tractor-trailer hit one of the bison on the interstate. The driver was not hurt, but there were more bison still on the loose in that area mid-Saturday morning.
According to the sheriff's office, there have been no other reports of bison on the road as of late Saturday afternoon.
The Ste. Genevieve Sheriff's County Office are still warning drivers to use caution in that area until the animals can be wrangled up.
