PERRY COUNTY, MO (KFVS) -

An 18-year-old Perryville man remains behind bars accused of having sex with middle school students.

Austin Luye faces seven charges of statutory rape and two misdemeanor charges of child molestation.

Investigators say in the probable cause statement that Luye had a similar method in every case. He would first approach the girls on facebook. In 4 months, investigators say he had at least six victims, all under the age of 14.

"I just stress to parents that you monitor what your kids are doing on the Internet because there are some things there that's very dangerous," Deputy Matthew Schamburg with the Perry County Sheriff's Department said. "Through our investigation, we established that this man was meeting young women online and arranging meetings with them."

That investigation lead to a long list of charges in both St. Francois and Perry County.

"He would come pick them up and make them feel comfortable and that's when some of these things happened," Deputy Schamburg said.

Luye is in custody in St. Francois County jail. He is scheduled to be in court in St. Francois County next month for the charges he faces there.

A court date for has not been set on the Perry County charges.
