ST. FRANCOIS COUNTY, MO (KFVS) -
The Missouri Highway Patrol says a 6-year-old hit by a pickup truck in St. Francois County Tuesday has died.
According to Trooper Wheetley, the 1997 Ford 350, driven by 42-year-old David L. Dickerson, was going eastbound on Route 8, just past Highway P around 4:50 p.m. when the boy ran into the road from the north side. The driver's side, rear of the truck hit him.
He said the driver was not able to avoid the child and no charges will be filed.
The 6-year-old was taken to the hospital with life threatening injuries.
A 15-year-old boy is in custody after authorities investigating the stabbing deaths of his younger adopted brothers found him miles away with traces of blood on him, officials said.
