Gunmen on the loose following fatal north Nashville shooting

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Metro police are hoping a pair of hats will help lead to the arrest of up to five suspects who are wanted in connection to a homicide last week on the city's north side.

Officials say 25-year-old Germaine Davenport was shot and killed in the 3100 block of Ewingwood Drive just after 10 p.m. last Wednesday.

The shooters were armed with long guns and handguns and then fled the scene. The motive for the shooting is unknown.

Two toboggan hats were found near the scene - one is orange and the other is red, white and blue with a Kansas City baseball logo.

Police believe the hats may be helpful in determining who was present at the time of the shooting.

Anyone with information on this case should call police Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME.
