(WMC-TV/KFVS) - Two men are in custody after reportedly leading police on a chase through three different states.

Darrell James Varner, 26, of St. Louis faces charges in Pemiscot County of resisting arrest by fleeing, receiving stolen property and armed criminal action.

Joseph Lamon Fuller, 32, of St. Louis faces a charge in Pemiscot County of receiving stolen property.

The chase started after police say the two men robbed a T-Mobile store on Stage Road in Memphis. The men drove with law enforcement on their tails for 99 miles, over the I-40 bridge into Arkansas, before peeling off near Osceola and giving way to Arkansas state troopers.

They were later joined by Missouri state troopers, who finally put an end to it all by using spike strips. Investigators say the driver nearly hit a trooper when he swerved trying to avoid the strips.

The chase ended in Pemiscot County, Missouri on I-55.

Deputies spent much of the afternoon searching for evidence they believe was tossed out the window during the pursuit.

Nobody was injured.
