Dexter couple was aboard disabled cruise ship in the Caribbean

DEXTER, MO (KFVS) -

More troubles with the world's largest cruise line-Carnival Cruise. This time it involved a Heartland couple from Dexter was aboard the ship.

They say although power had been restored and facilities were functioning again, the ship still couldn't leave port.

The dream was in St. Maarten on the final stop of a Caribbean cruise when the crew announced it would not be sailing back out.

According to the company, it was a technical issue with its backup emergency diesel generator.

The couple believes the media may have exaggerated the problems.

"I wouldn't change it," said Tammie Jackson. "Even knowing today if I walked aboard and didn't know we'd go down, not that I would want to go down at sea, but I wouldn't change it. It was an experience of a lifetime."

About 4,300 guests were aboard the dream along with about 1,300 crewmembers.

The cruise line flew all passengers stuck on the "dream" cruise ship back to Florida.

Jackson and her husband are in Orlando now visiting family, they plan to be back in Dexter soon.
