LAKE OSWEGO, OR (KPTV) -

A woman's Facebook relationship status led to the arrest of her boyfriend, who happened to be wanted by police.

An Oregon State Police trooper pulled over a 1995 Honda Accord on the northbound ramp to Interstate 5 from Kruse Way near Lake Oswego at about 5:45 p.m. Sunday.

Police said the car had an equipment violation. The driver, who was not listed as the registered owner, gave the trooper an Oregon driver's license. However, the trooper said the photo did not clearly match the driver.

Investigators said the driver claimed the car belonged to his fiancee. Trooper Travis Neubauer returned to his OSP car and used the onboard mobile data terminal computer to check the fiancee's name on Facebook.

He found a match and the woman's Facebook page said she was 'in a relationship' with a man named Kerry Prowse.

Further investigation revealed Prowse, 42, of Portland, was wanted on felony warrants from Multnomah County and the state parole and probation office.

Troopers said the driver initially continued to claim he was the person listed on the license before eventually admitting he was Prowse.

Prowse was arrested on charges of violating his parole, being a felon in possession of a weapon, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and unlawful possession of methamphetamine.

He was also cited for DUII-drugs and driving while suspended.

He was taken to the Clackamas County Jail, and investigators said other charges may be pending as the investigation continues.
