LILBOURN, MO (KFVS) -

According to Lilbourn Police Chief Dennis Young, crews are removing the thirteenth rail car on Tuesday from a Union Pacific train derailment.

The train derailment happened in late February.

Crews still have some coal they need to put in box cars and move. That coal will go to Texas.

Once the coal is gone, Union Pacific will send a crew to begin the restoration process.

A Union Pacific spokesperson says a broken wheel caused the train derailment.

The train loaded with coal was headed to New Madrid.

According to Union Pacific, 16 rail cars derailed. Thirteen of those cars flipped over on their sides. The entire train had 119 rail cars.
