BOLLINGER COUNTY, MO (KFVS) -

A woman shot during a possible domestic incident in Bollinger County has been released from the hospital.

According to Bollinger County Sheriff Darin Shell, the woman was shot Tuesday night on 411 County Road 344 off of Highway VV.

Shell says the woman is 31-year-old Nicole Morgan. She was shot in the stomach several times during a domestic dispute and flown to Saint Francis Medical Center. Shell says Morgan was released from the hospital Thursday.

Nicole Morgan told police her father-in-law, Bob Morgan, shot her in the stomach with a handgun during a dispute he was having with her husband, Robert Morgan.

Sheriff Shell spoke with the hospital and said Nicole Morgan was in the surgical unit early Wednesday afternoon.

Robert E. Morgan, 58, faces charges of first degree assault, unlawful use of a weapon, hindering prosecution, resisting arrest, armed criminal action, and endangering the welfare of a child.

Robert K. Morgan, 25, faces charges of first degree domestic assault, hindering prosecution, resisting arrest, and endangering the welfare of a child.

When deputies responded to the scene, they noticed that the upstairs lights were on and the window shade was open. Deputies tried to make contact by knocking and announcing. Shortly after their first attempt to make contact, someone in the home turned the upstairs lights off and closed the window shade.

Officers then obtained a search warrant and went into the home.

"Well, I heard it," said Paula Hayes, a neighbor. "It sounded like firecrackers or something. I had never seen anything like that, except on T. V. They (officers) came from all directions, and just kind of surrounded that whole house. I just didn't want to believe what was going on-I just didn't want the kids to be hurt, actually."

Both men were taken into custody without incident, according to Shell. They were taken to the Bollinger County Jail. Shell says more charges could be possible.
