Lanes open after semi crash on I-55 in Cape County

CAPE GIRARDEAU COUNTY, MO (KFVS) -

Lanes are back open after a serious wreck on Interstate 55 in Cape Girardeau County.

According to police an 18 wheeler ran off the road and crashed into a sign. As a result of the wreck police had to shut down one of the southbound lanes of the interstate.

The closure was between the 96 and 99 mile markers.

Police say firefighters are on the scene but it is not clear if anyone has been hurt.
