CARBONDALE, IL (KFVS) -

A Carbondale man has received a 10 year prison sentence after being found guilty on sex abuse charges.

Galon E. Mack, 44, of Carbondale, was convicted of felony aggravated criminal sexual abuse charges following a January jury trial.

According to the state's attorney, Mack was sentenced on Friday to serve 10 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections with two years of supervised release. He will also have to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.

Mack was found guilty of committing an act of sexual conduct on a minor.

The investigation was conducted by the Carbondale Police Department and prosecuted by Asst. State's Attorney Casey Bloodworth.
