WALNUT RIDGE, AR (KAIT)- The search for missing 14-year-old Sidney Randall continues Saturday with a record number of volunteers.

Nearly 200 volunteers came out Saturday to help in the search for Sidney Randall, who went missing earlier this month in Walnut Ridge. Police officials have been searching Lawrence County trying to find any clues to assist in the search.

Dive Team Coordinator Buddy Williams said he is grateful for the large number of volunteers.

"We need the volunteers because we got quite a bit of farm ground to cover and quite a bit of the river to cover," he said

"We are searching an area of ground that runs from Portia to Clover Bend, it's the county roads that we call the five hundreds, it's just an area of interest we don't have any new updates on the case."

Williams said they have not stopped searching. When someone calls in with a tip, they immediately check it out.

"We are hoping with this good turnout that we can really cover some ground and rule out, that's basically what we are doing, just ruling out," Williams said.

One volunteer, Angee Jones, said her daughter went to school with Sidney.

"Sidney's a sweet little girl I hate that people couldn't know her before this," Jones said.

"Today's search is different because it's an organized search the children can actually participate in."

Jones said in previous searches volunteers had to be at least 18 years old to participate in the search, but today they extended the offer to everyone.

"Kids came come out and go out with their parents and help search for Sidney," she said.

Williams said the search on Saturday will not be the last, and they will continue to search as long as they have volunteers.

"This is not a final big push, we will follow up on anything as long as we have volunteers coming out, we will continue to organize volunteer searches," he said.

Williams said he didn't expect this large of a crowd during the holiday weekend, but he knows the family is grateful.

"We realize it's a holiday weekend and stuff but we're just trying to help the family out," he said.

Jones said she just hopes the community continues to help look for Sidney.

"Somebody has seen something, somebody knows something and probably doesn't realize what they've come across," Jones said.

The Lawrence County Sheriff's dive team was also out searching bodies of water in the county.  If you are interested in helping in the search you can reach out to Buddy Williams at 870-844-2901.
