MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KY (KFVS) -

A man is in jail charged with attempted murder after an apparent stabbing in McCracken County.

Police and EMTs rushed to a home on Pool Road at around 9:30 Saturday night after someone called 911 to report that a man had injuries to his throat.

When deputies arrived they say 42-year-old Russell Horton was in the house with injuries to his neck.

Fifty-three-year-old Jeffrey Anderson was reportedly standing on the front porch holding a knife, reportedly with blood on his hands, face and clothes.

Horton was rushed to a hospital for treatment.

He was admitted into the hospital in stable condition but was being closely monitored by E. R. staff due to the amount of blood loss.

Police took Anderson in for questioning and later charged him with attempted murder.

Anderson's currently in the McCracken County Jail.
