Crews respond to rollover crash on I-55

CAPE GIRARDEAU COUNTY, MO (KFVS) -

Two drivers were involved in a two vehicle crash on Interstate 55 in Cape Girardeau County on Wednesday.

It happened around 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The crash is at the 109 mile marker.

According to Missouri Highway Patrol, two vehicles were northbound when they were involved in the wreck.

Troopers say one truck was hauling a trailer and flipped over. The truck and a car reportedly were in the northbound lane and ended up in near the southbound lanes.

Crews had to cut the man out of the truck.

He was taken to a Cape Girardeau hospital for treatment. There is no word on his condition or the condition of the other driver.

One southbound and one northbound lane were closed to traffic, but opened back up before 6 p.m.

    According to an Ameren spokesman, a bird's nest on a pole caught on fire leading to a downed power line on Route K around 10 a.m.
